My art career took root early in life as an editorial cartoonist for my hometown newspaper while in high school. I have since held numerous art positions working in a large variety of mediums from truck, sign and fabric painting to makeup artist for theater and photo shoots.
While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I attended many art classes & found myself drawn to shape and space. While majoring in graphic design at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, I was recruited by K.Q.E.D. as a graphic designer for advertising, set design and on air preparations. I next branched out again on my own with logo & identity design for numerous businesses in California, Nevada and Oregon.
Transferring my talent and background into metal over the last few years has been fulfilling. I enjoy the physical activity of working metal as much as the creativity in giving it form. I am currently acquiring blacksmithing skills to further the depth and movement of my pieces.
When I see that I have reached a viewer's senses, be it through contemplation, humor or the inquisitiveness of being drawn to reach out and touch a piece of my art, I appreciate knowing that its inspiration and creating has been shared.
